Stephen King Challenge!

I am very excited! Over on Book Chick City's blog I saw a challenge. I love challenges.

The challenge is that for the all of 2011 the person who is participating has to read 6-12 books written by the scare master Stephen King. I have always wanted to read Stephen King so this makes me very happy.

I will probably start off with 6 books just because I have classes and have never read anything of his before (I am embarrassed to say). I will begin reading literally January 1, 2011 while I have no classes and when I finish a book I will do a review of it on here. I would like to get to 12, but I will see how it goes.

I am very excited and anyone who has always wanted a good motivation to read his books, this is definitely a great one.

If anyone wants to join here is the link:

Please do join it will be a lot of fun and you can feel good knowing that somewhere out there there is a person like you reading Stephen King.

Busyness!!!

So I just noticed something while writing the title for this blog: busyness and business. This may have been obvious to others, but to me this is a revelation. There is a definite connection between the two. I wonder if business came from busyness???

Moving on though I have been very busy for quite some time, I have been studying my butt off for this class, reading other books, hanging with my friends, chillin with my boyfriend, and all the while improving myself and trying to go nuts :D.

I am so excited though, within two days I will be completly done with this class. So far in this class I have gotten 2 A's on 2 exams and I want to get that last A.

Besides that I am dealing with paperwork for Pelissippi and its been a total pain, everything from registration to financial needs. I won't be going back to UTC where I originally was going for quite some time. But I won't be able to because I have been ill for quite some time and my immune system sucks as a result.

I am getting better, but until I am back to my peak I am going to stay at home and go to school.

Either way I am very excited to be finished so that way I can relax a little bit before classes start for the fall.

My plans for the rest of the summer is excersie, write more, post more on this blog, read more, practice on my flute, and maybe even paint and draw. I'm pretty excited.

Finished One Exam

So I have just finished taking my first exam for this and I am very glad that this is done. Man that was a hard exam, it was not multiple choice. There were stupid identifications, short answers, and we had to do 2 essays. It took 2 hours for me to finish this test and my hand starting cramping up. I was so glad to be done with this test, now I know what to expect in the future.

I haven't finished my reading response....but frankly I am tired and I plan on doing that tomorrow morning. I did start on it (a tiny bit) but I should be fine. Other than that there is nothing really else I can say about today. I'm just proud of myself, I hope I get an A.

Although of the girls that is in my class today wasn't there. She is really nice and I met her on the 1st day. I hope everything is all right with her, cause she doesn't seem the typr of person to miss an exam.

Anywho other then that nothing much else is going on. Off to watch reality tv...a way to vedge after reading lots of english. For an English Major it can get hectic.

Sybil: A Story that Can't be Made Up

Title: Sybil: The Classic True Story of a Woman
Author: Flora Rheta Schreiber
Mass Market Paperback: 512 Pages
Publisher: Grand Central Publishing
Genre: Biography, Memoir/Health (It's sometimes in this section)
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

I started this book around March and I finally got to finish this book last week. It is a really great book to read, if anyone is interested in psychology, multiple personlity disorders, or just want to read an amzing book this is it. I do recomened beforehand though that you do not read this book if you are depressed and feeling down at the time; for throughout most of this book, it is not a happy story, its really painful, but helps you to appreciate life more and it's really insightful.

Sybil: The Classic True Story of a Woman Possessed by Sixteen Personalities written by her friend Flora Rheta Schreiber, it is a true story about a woman who throughout her child had an abusive mother, an apathetic father, lived in a town filled with purists christians; with their end of the world lectures being an every day norm, and also as a result of her disorder, she didn't have mamny friends and when she did she's told by her family to not be with them. I would tell you more about the book and an account of it, but I don't think I could do the book justice and I hope that it would encourage you all to read this awesome book.

All of these traumas that she experiences that go through and plus with the fact that her family has a history of mental disorder, she developed 16 different personalities that were all trying to live independtly of the waking self.

There has been a great deal of talk about whether or not this story could be true. If this story is not true, someone has a hell of an imagination and if it is a true story, then the person that went through it all is truly strong, amazing and a remarkable person. I give Sybill props to being able to do what she did.
