A Book Review: All you Need to be Impossibly French

I was wandering through McKay's when this book caught me eye. As some of you know I am taking French right now and I found this very intriguing.

The book is about a British woman living in Paris, France investigating what gives the French women the je ne sais quoi (the phrase literally means: I don't know what) that they seem to have. It is a wonderful book to read.

It is not a how to put make up on book, what to wear, or how to act in public book. This book simply talks about how to have (or at least understand) the french attitude, personality. What they think about food, fashion, friends, and men.

You join Powell as she goes on this journey to learn more about the the their eating habits, when they start wearing makeup, shaving(11, 12 sometimes as young as 9!), their obsession with staying thin, and how having affairs is as normal as having wine at multiple meals and is easy as going to a person and saying hello (literally in France people will straight up ask you, "Do you want to sleep with me?").

The amount of lingerie shops(tasteful and sexy, not skanky!) they have it is said is equal to the number of cheese shops they are supposed to have and the french love their chesse. At least that is the impression I was given thanks to this book. Or how about how French men would rather not have a french women! I know, to all of us this is shocking.

I won't give away any more, you will just have to go out and find out yourself!

This book is for everyone who is interested in the French women and how they live, you should definitely read this. It is well written, easy to follow, and one of those books you can finish in one sitting, although I recommend that you didn't do that. Very enjoyable.

Any Girl Can Get What She Wants

Another amazing book that I have read within the past few months is The Go-Getter Girl's Guide. This book is a must read for anyone that wants to succeed and look amazing at the same time. I got this book over a year ago and just read and finished it a few months.

This little blurb is what sums up what this book is all about. I have not read either of the books that are mentioned above (a few more added to my, What I have to read before I die list). I was so glad I got this book.

This book is written by Debra Shigley who has written numerous books, multiple national television shows, is a journalists who is a senior editor for the magazine Atlanta, and has appeared many more.

In this book it teaches and inspires women in all professions, whether they are in the field already or they are just college students. You learn how to deal with office politics, how to negotiate to get what you want, get mentors, get ahead even though you may not have the qualifications just yet, and how to take care of yourself and look fabulous all at the same time.

For me I thought it was great that someone wrote this book for Women cause it is necessary. This book is not the kind that once you have read it you are done. I not only recommend this book to everyone, I recommend that you reread it over and over again until you have everything burned into your mind.

With how the economy is so bad right now everyone needs all the help they can get to make sure they succeed at life.

My favorite chapters are

and

*Learn the Art of Negotiation

Both are great chapters I will reread again and again. The only reason why I gave it a 4 1/2 out of 5 instead of a 5 out of 5 is because I believe that she could have written more.

This book is for every woman.
